Hi Guys
I can’t believe its been 10 years – it’s now the downhill slide to “30”
but I’m sure it will be fun J!
Congrats to all those who tied the knot and to the ones with little babies. And its nice to see everyone
is doing really well.
As for me, I’m great. After school, I started studying medicine at Wits. After my dad tragically
died in my second year of med school, I took a leave of absence for half a year. When I returned to med school, my heart was
not in it and after a year long struggle, I decided to give it up!
I moved to Cape Town to be closer
to my family (who moved to CT after my dad died) and started a BSc in Computer Science at the University of Cape Town. It turned
out to be the best decision ever – I love the subject and have just completed my masters.
At the end of June, I’ll be finished with my lecturing post at UCT (it was a year long post) and I’ll be
heading to Atlanta, Georgia, USA on a Fulbright scholarship to start my PhD at Georgia Tech. I’m leaving in July which
is why I’ll just miss the reunion and it’s a five year long program so I’m not sure where I’m heading
after that.
Also, I’m not married but currently have a great boyfriend, Matt, of 3 years who will be staying behind in SA
for now. I wish you guys all the best in the future, if you’re in Atlanta in the next few yonks, get my details
from Julie and pop by!
Cheers,
Marshini
